Hi, This is Joe - glad to meet you all!
I'm intersted in purchasing a 98 Ford Ranger, 3.0 litre with 39K on it.
I am also looking at a 99 Ford F150 with 58K.
My question is, how do most of you feel about the 4.2 litre, as I have heard some horror stories regarding head gaskets, push rods, etc.
I am trying to confirm if these rumors are true.
Can someone give me alittle insight on either of these trucks?

Using the tech forums is the best way to get answers to tech questions. Posting as you did in the Ranger forum was the way to go. You can also browse over the boards to the engine forums to find even more information about a particular engine.
