89' no spark!

I just recently bought an 89 2wd F-150 with a 300 in it. A week ago I noticed that the truck lacked power, didnt idle well boggs down bad and smells really bad from the exhaust. I have since changed the wires, cap, rotor, removed the TFI module, got it tested, re-installed it, and just recently changed the coil as well but the truck is still running like crap and smells horrible, I originally thought the problem was my cat untill I found my spark tester, put it on #1 and "said oh crap somehow it got broken!" then I put it on some other wires and I get spark. I pulled the #1 spark plug and it hadn't gotten spark in a while either. Also when I remove the wire, from the plug then it gets spark. I shocked myself after I put in the new coil, but never before then. Anyone ever have this problem?? I would say throwing money at this thing is getting old...but it seams I have already replaced just about everything!

So you have spark at the end of the #1 wire? Probably a bad plug then.

I bought an 87' F-150 and the first thing I did was change all the plugs and wires. I found a couple plugs and wires that were just sitting on the top of the plugs as the snap connector was corroded right off almost.
