Question Yet Another Stupid Question From Me

Yea, that's right...anyways....how is everyone tonite?doin good I hope cept fer a few noobs like Chris n franken n Ryan...Ha ha!Uhhhh, thermostat question.....how does it install......My buddy put it in and I thought he did it wrong (that and the gasket leaked) so I flipped it around...You gotta dumb up ur answers too...don't use words like element or long side...use words like springy thing and pointy side.The way I've got it now is the springy thing (ie example above) is towards the block...I'm thinkin I got it right but now I'm just confangled..Thanks all.

. . . . . yes, for that IS the right way, NOW; ..... ........{LOL}.....( j/k_now.... ....no pun against ya... ), BUT's, yeah OR you could say: the side with the arrow/A_frame-like =^=, goes towards/point's to the Radiator...... ............got IT, NOW ? !? !? !? > .....

The way my dad explained it to me years ago....."the thermostat always points (pointy thing) to the thermostat housing. (the dome shaped part with the radiator hose attached)" And yes, "pointy thing" and Domed shaped.....) were part of his origional explaination to me. This was over 30 years ago, and I remember it like it was yesterday. He was pointing at the parts he was describing as he was explaining them.

I do a lot of auto work for friends, and most of them are very unlearned when it comes to anything mechanical. I've gotten into such a habit of explaining things in layman's terms to them that it's just habit now. They always want to watch me when I work, because it's apparently just facinating.

Go figure...
