Well... your gas milage a wee-bit, engine response, faster warm-ups (winter), make your mod list a lil longer ;-) I think it's a good invest ment for the dollar.

You don't have the stock fan blowing cold air over the engine. What they blow through the radiator doesn't matter since the thermostat isn't opened. I don't think the warm-up time difference is going to be huge except in very cold weather.
with electric fans you could also run a meziere electric water pump. if i ever get e fans on my truck, the pump is gonna be put in at the same time. I've been running one on the mustang, and on the dyno it made 12hp/tq (same dyno, but different days, constant gain throughout the rpm band, not just peak).
i don't know exactly what kind of HP the fan eats up, but between the two it would be an easy decent hp gain, without needing a tune or making the truck louder or anything else...
Sounds like a good idea but i don't like oxymorons... electic water pump...
are you worried about the water and electricity causing a problem? they are safe for a couple reasons.... one, they are sealed, and two, dc voltage is very different than ac voltage.
ahhh... i got ya...... i have read a bit about them too... maybe one day in the future ill try them... supposed to have better flow with less drag on the engine. coupled with the electric fans, im sure it would be noticable.

the best part about them is that they spin at a constant (much better than stock) rate. so when you're in stop and go traffic going 1500 rpm max, your water pump is still spinning harder than your stock pump would be spinning at 7000 rpm. in the mustang back in phoenix it cooled down and turned the fans off much faster than the stock pump. I'm sure i could have put a low tstat in there and keep the car as cold as I wanted with it...
My '72 390 has dual elec fans behind an alum rad, and it is a great thing. Never overheats in 115 degree traffic, and I get warm air in 1/3 of the time of the old eggbeater fan. And it sure felt like a hp gain the first couple of times I drove it after the change. Not a cheap deal, but if you're going to drive the thing for a hundred yrs, worth the $$$ in my humble opinion.
Ive always had great luck with e-fans on all of my vehicles, but I did find a noticeable improvement in mileage, power, and throttle response on my own 2004 F-150. They are a great bang for the buck! We sell some of the lowest priced kits out there for the F-150s, with hundreds of sets sold!
As far as the water pump, is there one available for the mod motors in the trucks? Are they same pumps used in the mustangs? Thats something I havent looked into myself!
