Transmission Fluid Quantit

2005 F250 Super Duty, 5-speed Torqshift. Need to drain and change remote filter. What is the refill quantity of fluid (qts) required after draining and changing the filter? Thanks.

Less than a quart. Just refill the filter housing after installing the new filter in the housing and you will be good to go.

Are you dropping the pan and changing the remote filter or just changing the remote filter?

If you are dropping the pan & changing the remote filter it will take 7-8 qts as the T/C & trans cooler will still be full of fluid.

If you flush the transmission as per the procedure in the 6.0 tech folder, then it will take 18-20 quarts to fully flush and fill the transmission, T/C, cooler and lines.

There are two filters. Remote filter should be changed also.
