For years they never enforced this, I know because I always ran 5% which is considered "limo" tint. IMPOSSIBLE to see thru. In AZ you can have whatever percent you like on the rear window, or the rear side windows, but not the front/side windows. Maximum of 35% up front. Matching tint is really really hard, if you are a perfectionist......remove it all and have it all replaced at the same time.

i dont think thats what it means because a 30% tint is pretty dark and wont let in 70% light. I think a 70% tint lets in 70% light. i hope your right though because CA tint rules are pretty similar.
