After my 6.0 Diesel sits over night or all day without being started, it has no power. After engin runs about 10 min it has plenty of power. Can anyone solve this problem?
How about a little info on the truck? model, year, mileage, mods, tunes?
What do you mean 'no power'? What does that constitute? Slow of a cold start? My truck is always slow after a cold start, as the engine works and warms up the oil it becomes better in speed and response. You can't expect the truck to start in the morning and fly around town right away.
agreed, you need to let your truck warm up, i usually do not romp on it until the stock coolant gauge is half staff and my trans temp gauge is at least on 120!
we need some more info, the MY truck does nto help much. what is is and what mods if any?? they all need to run a few minutes after intial start up.exspecially in the colder temps.
Ok Guy's,
I wasn't thinking the model made a differance, but I own a 2003 F-250 SD, equiped with the 6.0 Power Stroke engine.
I really don't "Romp" on it right after a cold start. However after the vehicle sits for "say" around 2-3 hours I can start the engine and drive off at a moderate speed. When the vehicle sits for a long period "say" over-night, then it has LOW power. The vehicle acts as if the accelerator isn't even connected. It is sort of like driving off at idle speed. However when you continue to hold the accelerator down (for maybe 50 feet) the engine picks up and the vehicle jumps foward. The next stop then start it has LOW power again. This goes on for around 4-5 miles. It's like the fuel system is losing prime.

Sounds like you might have injector stiction to me. Have you had the latest reflash that helps with cold start's? If not you might consider that before you let someone tear into it for an unnecessary repair. A reflash typically will cost you about 1 hour labor (takes about 10 minutes or less to do).

yeah an hour or less charge, but the 6.0L takes about 30-40 minutes because you are flashing 3 modules(FICM,TCM,PCM) and so many key cycles on and off about 15 times.. way too many key cycles but they are needed to make sure the modules do not lose communication w/ each other.
May be stiction, it is a good idea to get the heat inductive anyways to avoid stiction.
