my friend has some pics of a "X" with 08 front end conversion... i missed it but he took a few pics... it was at SEMA a few weeks ago..... so yes it can be done but not sure about bolt on or what mods if any need to be done..... i will try to post some pics soon....
If I'm not mistaken, Ford change the distance between the frame rails, taking this to a much higher level of difficulty. But hey, if you got the $$$ you can probably find someone to get-r-dun.
I'll try and dig through my favorites, but I recall seeing something elsewhere on the net about a 08 conversion process. Because of the 08's new front stub frame design, I believe the truck has to have front coils and not leaf springs.
The radiator reinforcement panel needs to me cut, modified, and welded to tilt the radiator back at the top to clear the 08's grill/hood design. Special brackets need to be fabricated to simulate the '08 frame stub's mounting points. I think the fenders and hood will then bolt on.
Quite a bit of work and the parts are far from cheap for the average Ex owner to undertake. If you have sponsor resources, its not so bad.
Because of the modifications necessary to structural members and the liability associated with that, I wouldn't expect to see a kit anytime soon.
If someone wants to buy 2 sets of 08 front ends (one for you and one for me) I'd be happy to take on the conversion project (no receipts and no real names for liability reasons).

And if you need a third opinion send a front end my way. I have a welder and torch and what not to take this challenge. But I might have to clear that with the wife first. But if not I would like to get the 08 blacked out grill saw one yesterday and I loved it plus the wife said yes. Yeepppeeee
