Master engine kit
Thanks for all the advice on my engine so far guys. Can anyone recommend who to get a master engine kit from? I've seen a few on the internet at a range of prices. I have found a shop that will clean, magna-flux, and bore my I6 for about $110.00, so I thought I had better start shopping around for replacement parts. Should I want until the shop is done before ordering, so I know how much then had to overbore to get things right again?

I would definetly wait until the shop is done with the re-bore before I get the engine kit. You do not know how much oversize they will have to go to get a clean cut cylinder.

Wait till they finish the block. Then give summit racing a call 1-800-230-3030 and ask them. They can hook you up with a kit with all quality components fel-pro/federal mogal,etc. for a killer price in my past experience. Paw sells some real cheap kits but they have alot of off brands aswell. Hope this helps and dont try to find these in summits catologe they have tons of stuff you need to call for.

don't forget the crank and the rods, unless your replacing them. have the machine shop check them over. when i rebuilt the engine in my jeep i had all that done. cost a little more but its better than having to take it all back apart again if something goes wrong. i had the machine shop get all the new bearings and gaskets. due to the fact that they did the machine work they know the bearing sizes that it needed. and they ordered all the good stuff(federal mogal, fel pro, ect.) with out going to expensive on me. i reassembled it all myself so i saved money there.
