93 auto hub problem?
I have the auto hubs and the button on the dash set up. I believe that my hubs are not unlocking. How can I tell if the auto hubs are bad or if it is something else with the 4x4 system that has gone bad? I know the little motor on the transfer case is alright because when you turn the switch off the front wheels wont pull/spin. When I drive without the 4x4 engaged/button on I get this clicking noise from the front hubs. I am willing to change to manual hubs but I want to make sure that the hubs are the problem before I put money into the old rusty girl.

The hubs do freeze. I have had then self destruct and ruin bearing in process. Not that they were ever. that reliable but now with 16 or so years on em its worse.
Since you said the xsfer case seems to work fine. Get a set of manual hubs for on it. You will know they work for sure. Good luck
I run them on mine but I take them off yearly and soak in mystery oil while repacking bearings. They work But if I was not on highway most time I'd get manuals . I do carry a tow strap >.
