The wife's b-day is at the end of the month and when asked what she wanted she said something else to make her bronco faster. I just redid everything on this motor from the deck up, heads and all over the summer. I put the crane cams extreme 4x4 cam in it, and dual exhaust. Beyond that, it is a stock 351HO in an 86 Bronco. My question is which intake is gonna be the best bang for the buck in this scenario. In the current Summit catalog, there is a Ford Performance intake that I like, also there is a weiand stealth that I like. Not all of the intakes listed show to be available for the Windsor. Is there really gonna be a noticeable difference in performance over the stock 4 barrel intake? What are you guys running for your aftermarket intake? As always any and all input is much appreciated.
I think that maintaining (sp?) one set is plenty enough headache for me. Seems like I'm always changing header gaskets on the 65. There's lots of room on the 65 under the hood, not so much on the 86. As far as exhaust manifolds go, I hear there's something beneficial to getting EFI manifolds?

Her Bronc has a c6.
I can see if I still have the card for the cam if that would help in picking out a manifold. The performer was mentioned to me, and coincidentally I was told that it is almost identical to that ford performance intake I mentioned earlier.
You are a hundred percent correct on the intake just make sure it is a single plane manifold because they are designed for the same rpm range as your cam 2200+

A single plane is not going to come into its power range till way over 2k. You dont want that anywere near a truck!!! I would say a performer. If you spin it higher rpm, grab a performer RPM
Fiinished up the install yesterday, can't say I am at all impressed. Almost like it has a vacuum leak, but I can't find it. It was late, and it runs and is not puking anything so I said screw it I'll work on it tomorrow. It is gonna have to run alot better to impress me though.
We just came in from trying to figure this out. It completely bogs out if you stomp it from a dead stop. I used a can of starting fluid to look for leaks. Intake is sealed up good, carb is sealed up good, all vacuum leaks have been addressed. We fine tuned on the carb, which was just rebuilt this summer. We checked the timing and tried everything from 9 degress to 21 degrees, our best being about 14. There are no emissions on this motor. Vacuum lines have been reduced to only what it needs to control accessories. Dist. cap was pulled, cleaned, plugs and wires are good. WTF? I am currently not thinking too highly of this manifold. By the way the motor has a comp cams kit and an edelbroc carb, dual exhaust and now the manifold. Everything else is stock.
