Just picked up a '56 F100 running a 1972 302 & C$. Runs good for now...but during the "rebirth" of our new Effie...we also have a 1980-something 302 sitting on a stand in the garage that was running when yanked out of a mid-to-late 80's Mustang.
Please help me ID the carburated 302 that has been sitting in the garage for a few years...where are the block #'s...it's a long story...
looks like a 80 casting and if I read it right it's a 83.. 50oz balance where as the 72 is 28oz...make sure you get the right flywheel and balancer if you use it.
It's an 83 Stang motor, but at this point in time, nothing to write home about. The blocks aren't particularly desireable and the early 50 oz cranks are known to break in half. Not a roller motor either. The intake brings about $50 on ebay. Heads aren't desireable either. Hope you didn't pay too much for it. It's really only good as a core for rebuilding, reusing the block, & rods. Plus any front end accessories that came with it.
I was off anyway on the roller block's casting number location. It is on the passenger side like the rest. Been looking at too many on my engine stand, flipped upside-down.
