injector size ?'s

I'm swapping out the 302 in my 95 f250 4x4 5spd for the 393w thats sitting in the garage. It's a 10.2 C/R with GT40 heads, comp retro 270hr cam. I'm gonna try to keep the fuel injection (was carbed) that is on the truck now. But I'm gonna need bigger injectors. I've got a MAF harness (complete) from a 95 f150 302, MAF, EFI intake (upper & lower), A9L computer. Can I use Injectors from 91 460 (which are 24lb's) or are they not compatible with the A9L. I know I'll have to get an MAF that is calibrated for the 24lb inject.

a 302 intake wont fit on a 351w block- the 351w is wider, but yes 24lb injectors from a 460 should work fine once you get the proper intake. also the computer might freak on you about your cam- may have to get a computer compatible cam. you should be able to use your computer but yes youll probably have to have it flashed for the bigger injectors or get a tweecer or similar tuner and do it yourself

Thanks darrin1999, well I thought that those would work but was'nt real sure. I do have the intake for the 351w waiting on the garage floor. hopefully I will get started soon.

With the MAF, the cam will be fine. See if you can find a 1st Gen Lightning MAF. They had the GT40 stuff on them and also had 24Lb injectors.

First Gen Lightnings were not mass air and still used 19 lb injectors...

OK, 93 Cobra 24lb injectors and 70mm MAF.

A Std 351 in a 93 F150 had MAF, I can't believe that a Lightning did not.

The Cobra MAF is the same calibration as the regular mustangs, for 19lb injectors. The injector size is accounted for in the Cobra engine computer. I don't believe there are any MAF 351's in 93 at all. The 5.0 MAF was fairly common in 94 and 95, but F150s were not MAF across the board until 96 with OBD-II.

My friend at work has a 93 F150 ext cab 8ft bed with a 351W with MAF. It may be a late 93, but it is a 93. I am suprised that the Lightning did not have MAF. I finally forund a picture of a stock one earlier.
My 88 Mustang has the same A9L computer in it. I am going to go to a C&L 73mm MAF soon since the stock one is only 55mm, as well as a 70mm throttlebody.

So back to the original question, Use the A9L box, 351W intake, 5.0 wiring harness and get a C&L MAF for the 24lb injectors. (They vary the sample tube size to compensate for different injector sizes. It's not as accurate as chipping the ecm, but close)

Are you sure his 93 is stock? You don't have to have california emissions in Louisville, do you? Those MAF 351's must be few and far between...

Yeah, it's all stock. No CA emmisions here. It must be a rare breed indeed.
