On my '02 the fuse is 20 amps located in the fuse box under the steering wheel, can't remember the fuse # right now but it is located on the bottom row in the center. On '02 the fuse works trailer tail lights and reverse lights so try checking your plug for power to the tail lights if it is also dead its got to be the fuse. My aux. back-up lamps have a defetive bulb that keeps grounding out and blowing my fuse (time to upgrade to 100w bulbs). Check there first, I can't it being different than '02. If you can't find it I will go out and check and get you the exact fuse number.
I'm also installing aux lights for reverse, but instead of running a wire from the plug back to a relay in the cab, can I run it from that #4 fuse or that relay under the hood?
you can, but you allready have the wires there so why not use it. you have fuse and relay to protect your electrical system. thats why i wanted to use the stock wires. and they i think 12 or 14 gauge, will support most backup lamps you will put out there.
all you have to do if you have relay 38 which is the small box on the left of under hood fuse panel next to master cylinder, is drill you hitch for ground and tap Black/green wite on you trailer plug. just like i did . and its all working.
