Keeping small cargo in place

Are there any nice solutions to keeping a small pile of stuff from wandering around the bed while you're driving? I figure there's got to be something out there, so I thought I'd ask before reinventing the square wheel.

I have a drop in bedliner...... about 2 feet from the tailgate, on both sides, are spaces molded in the liner... I just use a 1X6 cut to fit snuggly..... about as cheap as you can get.

loose cargo holder

I have a cheap cooler held in place with shock cords. I can haul a few groceries, etc. without them rolling around. Of course, it's not really secure against parking lot bums, but I have the super crew cab for that.

I have a cargo bar to keep stuff from flying to the front. I also have a milk crate in the back for the smaller things that can go under the bar.

A rubber mat in the bottom will help keep stuff from sliding around too.

I use an empty shell (drink case) from work to throw my chain, receiver tongue, and ratchet straps in. It's bungied to the tie down. Anything that can't go back there goes on the passenger floorboard.
