We used to be Jardine Header co. My dad, Jerry Jardine, sold the company to summit ind (not the catalog guys) in the mid '80s. So thats our old company. Summit also owns Doug Thorley headers (not dougs headers). Sold and installed a lot of thorley headers when Betty Thorley still had the company.
We've been doing R.V. exhaust since under Pinnacle Power Exhaust. We are mainly doing 4" diesel stuff right now, but we're devolping some gas headers again. Just got done running some 6.0 litre chevy headers on the dyno. Some promising numbers, Have to do some more tweaking though. Fords are the next on the list.
Thanks, Jerod Jardine.
I ordered my Headers directly from Thorley. The company name was Summit Industries and the Invoice had Jardine Performance on it. I thought there might be a connection there.
When you say "Fords Are Next" which engines are you going to be looking at. If the 6.8l V10 is one of them, I'm sure the guys over in the V10 forum would like to see any products or dyno graphs you have, as would I.
There $660 without the y-pipe, so I think its the best overall selection. It might require some fabricating to get those headers to hook up into the true dual, but it should be worth it.
I would run both pipes down the pasenger side. Get a double in double out magnaflow then run a tail pipe out each side. The double in double out muffler will act like your equalizer. You could also run two mufflers next to each other, if you stager them a little they will fit a little more compact. A good muffler shop should be able to do this no problem. If you order the headers make sure you get the colector gaskets, They're a good donut type, and ask em for street hookups. These will make the project alot easier. If you need any help with em get ahold of me. Be REAL care full removing the manifold bolts. Ford used a real long bolt on the 460's. They tend to stretch and become brittle and easy to snap off. The pickups are almost imposible to drill out if the broken bolts are one of the rear cylinders. My 90 460 Ford had 2 broken ones, one more in the middle and one of the rear ones. I never fixed 'em. The gasket would blow out every year or so. I figured replacing the gasket was easier than pulling the head and drilling the bolt out. That part of the beauty of thick flanges.
Thanks, Jerod Jardine.
Well I already got the true dual tho guys. I am running an h-pipe. I got dynomax bullets and cats as well, the headers are to just help make this system louder and more powerful. Cant wait
