I relamped and rewired an old utility trailer that I tow occasionally. The lights all work fine (4 dual bulb clearance lights, 3 lamp over 80" ID bar, 2 combo stop/turn taillamps).
While towing this weekend I noticed that the cruise control disengaged whenever I turned the truck lights (parking or headlamps) on. I typically only tow this trailer during daylight hours, but it was raining, so I had the truck's lights turned on. I am using the flat flour connector to the trailer and the truck had the factory tow package.
I did a search, and the closest thing I found was the mention of a bad ground backfeeding thourght the brake lamp filament. Anyone else have something like this happen or any good tips to offer?
I towed a car trailer and the cruise kicked off when the lights turned off also. I think that the trailer plug was shorting out which showed a fluctuation in the electronics and shut it off. That is totally a guess though.

Only thought that comes to mind is that the cruise is designed to kick off if the hazard light 4-ways get turned on. Maybe some quirky cross wire thing?
