Thats sure is a nice truck, but it doesn't look like the hood or doors are gaped right. the door looks to be hung pretty badly. Oh well maybe im just to picky. haha
So, did someone build this just to sell? or is it low miles because it's only been in shows? Hardly seems like a money-making proposition, at least anywhere near where it's at right now.
Yeah the front sheet metal needs some attention. I wonder if the alignment has anything to do with them omitting the cross supports under the hood? Overall nice looking truck.
You are right, Alec. The doors aren't gapped right and they don't fair to the cab well. But now that it is painted, if you were to correct them, the lines of the paint job would be screwed. There are other small things that drive me crazy. In the view of the driver door jamb, the seams are rough and weren't filled before paint. The console looks like they built it without an idea of what to put in it. It just looks in the way. The speakers in the console facing away from each other don't make sense to me either. The AC setup is really funky looking, even though he's got a fortune in braided lines there it isn't neat...etc., etc.
I'm not normally as picky on an owner built truck, but when it's at $20,000 and the reserve is not met, somebody's fooling somebody here.
It is expensive schlock, to me.
Although, the paint color grows on me. I like the bed wood.
At first I thought someone had stolen the distributor, but then I noticed that it has just been re-located to behind the carb for some strange reason...
I'll venture a guess why it's being sold. Someone probably had it built and made the decisions themselves, without realizing how much it is going to actually cost. Then when it was done and they had to pay the final bill they realized it was too expensive and needed to sell it. Another guess is that the owner decided partway through completion they didn't have the money to finish it (at $60 an hour) so the company that is building it finished it up and is selling it to recoup their costs and expenses.
I can't remember the last time I saw so many pictures of an item on ebay.
I agree with Randy Jack about the fit and finish, I'd be unhappy if someone was building a truck for me and the end product sagged in the middle.
