4WD Manual Engage
My 2001 F150, 5.4, Auto Trans, (94K miles) is very difficult to switch into 4 wheel drive with the floor stick shifter. It has always been kind of stubborn, but lately it takes both hands and a concerted effort to not yank the **** off the top of the shifter stem when I try to put it into 4WD. I've tried it while stopped or moving slowly forward but it's tough either way. Maybe it's time for a transfer case oil change?

how long has it been since you have had a fluid change, i know mine takes a while to shift into 4wd even though it is an ESOF it has not had a fluid change since it was built in 97, atleast i do not think the previous owner even tried to change the fluid

my manual stick is the same way....i changed fluid and its a bit easier now....i can sue one hand and pull it back...but there is still not a noticeable NOTCH to say i am in 4x4....also i am having the problem of it not staying in....it goes in for about 30 sec and as soon as i start driving the light goes out and it pops itself back into 2x4.
