My 1998 f150 usually run very well, however over the last couple of months, it will running good then all of a sudden it will cut back like a jerk motion, then it will run good again. It seem to do this more when I am going up a hill.
ANY IDEA WHAT THIS CAN BE??????
If you are considering working on your own vehicle, then it might be helpful to buy a repair manual, they are not exact but can be very helpful.what size engine do you have?
Go get it scanned. Certain limits have to be met to set a code and flash the CEL. You could have codes pending that will not set the light, but will show up if you get the PCM scanned.
Could be your fuel pump giving out due to a plugged fuel filter or just the fuel filter itself giving you trouble. I had the same problem when i bought my truck. It was at 190,000 km with the original motocraft filter. Plugged. Changed and problem solved. Just like the other guys said, get it scanned and see if you have a certain cylinder misfiring. Poor plugs might do that too.
