I cannot believe that at around 20,000 miles the tires are as wore as they are I thought I was getting a better tire than this from what I had heard I thought I was buying a better quality product which would give me better wear for the price.

you get what you pay for, these go out of balance constantly and are formed so bad that they CAN NOT be balanced within any type of comfort zone. Tread is also eating away very quickly considering the fact that these come with 640 tread I have almost eaten through all of it with just highway driving you will only get about 25 - 30 thousand miles max. Spend the extra money and buy a quality tire that will last and stay balanced and smooth. These also cause massive MPG decrease due to being unbalanced constantly. If you have a beater work truck though these would be great, just not for quality ride.
I have never seen anyone up here in Canada with Generals on their trucks. Could be that it isn't available up here or no one wants them. Most of the oil patch work trucks up here have BF's on them, but Mickey T's, Pro-comps and Toyo's are becoming more popular for their reputation of durability.
General tires are complete junk! I had a set on my old '90 F150 and they were absolutely the worst tires I have ever owned. No wet traction. No dry traction. No snow traction. No mud traction. Uneven wear. Couldn't get them to completely balance.

Could it be we found a tire worse than Goodyear rts? I thought they sucked.

I think we have. I had the GY RTS on my truck when i got and they were fine for dry roads but when it started snowing they were complete junk. I've never had Generals but from what my dad has said they are garbage. I bought a set of Pathfinder Trail APs last September and have put about 20k on them. I will say that after having them for a year now. The wet traction goes down as they wear. I think my next set will be Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. My dad had them on his 2wd Dodge and were well worth the money.

I would have to agree, the Wrangler RT/S do suck. It's been a night and day difference since I got my Bridgestone Dueler Revo's. BTW, I have 285/70/17 and they have that "monster" truck tire look.
my dad had a set of the bridgestone dueler at/s on my truck when i bought it from him, they were a great tire i thought, decent for what little offroadin he did (i do more and now have mud tires) and lasted a hell of a long time, my votes for the dueler at/s
