Intercooler pipes

I recently picked up a 99 intercooler to swap into my 95. Cooler only, so I am on the hunt for pipes.

I found a kit, GTS performance, for 675$ that includes everything supposedly required for the swap.

Any experience with this kit here? I searched around, but no luck.

Also, if there any major reason you wouldnt be able to hook up a 6.0 cold intake like banks ram air into an old 7.3 truck. Anyone done it?

Right now I have a TPS auto, TCI billet converter, 4" downpipe to 4" straight all the way back, a superchip 3 position tuner (A DP is in the plans) and DIY stage 1 injectors.

I really need more, and cooler air at this time. Hence the cooler swap for sure, and cold air intake consideration.

Thanks for the help guys.

They say that the 6.0 cooler is bigger and cools better.
As far as the pipes they will have to be made or bought from banks or from Boyer, http://boyercustomtruck.com/index.as...OD&ProdID=2595.

If you have the ability to get an early '99 y-pipe grab it even if you don't need it. I guarantee that someone here would love to have it. You could use it yourself.

See here for some help.

This is the pipe kit I found Neal.

http://www.gts-motorsports.com/fordintercoolers.html

It includes the 99 style Y pipe.

Is the 6.0 the same basic mounting demensions and hose locations as the 99?

I will maybe do the 6.0 down the road, but for now the 99 will have to do, as I already spent the money.

You can make it yourself for a whole lot cheaper that $675.

The GTS IC swap kit is nice but unfourtunately it is very hard to come by as its handmade for each application. GTS will take orders for the IC swap kit but until they get say 10 orders filled they wont ship it out to you so you could be waiting for a couple days or as long as a couple months, even up to a year, however long it takes to fill a set number of orders. Your best bet would be to make your own kit, modify the 99-03 7.3 IC pipes to work for your truck, or buy the Banks IC pipe and spyder kit. There are plenty of write-ups on how to install IC's in our trucks floatin around this site. I know that TjBeggs has a good one and so does Rubberduck. Bets of luck

I have no doubt I could. But I am in the middle of building this (with a may deadline), and really dont want to put in time custom building brackets and pipes for an intercooler.

Like Steve said don't go with the GTS kit. The other thing I don't like about the GTS kit is it has 4 more points to leak (two more rubber boots) than the rest of the systems. If you don't want to build your own buy the banks kit from Boyer's. Really building the pipes was the easiest part of the project. From the time I started til the time I had the pipes welded and install was about 2 hours. But that was with the banks y-pipe already.

here is my install write up with my pics

another good write up

I meant to mention that about GTS. I guess if you have time on your hands. I understand he doesn't have good customer communication either. For the money I would buy the ones from Boyer or try to order what boyer offers directly from banks.
