unplug fuel heater

Question unplug fuel heater

my fuel heater is leaking on my fuel filter/water sep. and i was told i can replace the o-rings. when i unplug it,it doesn't leak.can i leave it unplugged until i have time to fix it or will it hurt something.still learning

It won't do any good to unplug it it will still leak untill you replace o rings.

You can leave it unplugged forever and not hurt anything. Are you sure the leak stops when you do it?

i was wrong as you said it still leaks.i might have it fixed.it just seemed to stop when i unplugge it.thats why i ask questions,i'm new at this.thanks for all the help.one more question,what is the thing that sits in front of the motor behind the belt tensioner,its round and has little slits in the top and it makes a puttering noise,sounds like air is comming out of it and is it suppose to make that noise or is something wrong with it.no smoke, just noise.thanks agian.

That would be the vacuum pump for the brakes.......
