Now it is getting a little colder here in the Northeast...below 40 in the morn..
My 6.0 (F-350 93,000 miles, stock eng,6-speed) has a noticeable stumble or rough idle when first started when cold (below 50),but always starts right up.
Sounds to me if it was my a 7.3 that a couple of glow plugs were not functioning, but I am new to this engine.
It seems to be running rough on 6 or 7 cylinders when cold, puffing some smoke, but idles for 5 min or so and runs perfectly.
I am bringing it to the dlr,but was wondering if anyone had this problem before or knew the fix?...Injector,glow plug problem?
Thanks
I'd say it's an injector problem--probably stiction of the spool valve. The dealer will probably reflash it with the latest strategy and have you drive it for a couple of days to see if it "cures" the problem. If it already has the latest flash then they should take another course of action.
