Question Fender Question

Sorry i'm new at this. But i have found some front fenders that the guy says they are for 42-48???? There are headlight buckets in the fenders I have a 48' F1. They are a little rough looking but the price is cheap. Will they fit?

Front fenders are the same for 1948-50. Pre '48 are different.

The guy might be right on a technicality - according to pictures I've seen, some of the earliest '48 trucks came out with left-over 42-47 sheetmetal before the new bonus built trucks were delivered to dealers Jan 16, 1948. So it's possible that he is correct.

However, as 52merc stated normally 48's don't wear the same sheetmetal and the 42-47 fenders won't fit your 48 F1.

If nothing else, if the price is right and the fenders are repairable, buy them and post on this site in the pre'48 board. Someone there might be able to use them. Take the money and put them toward the correct fenders.
