I grafted the seats from my old 1990 Eldo into my 56 this weekeend. They are wired up and working. It is still a project in process, but you can check it out here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=31067
Now I have seats as comfy as my La-Z-Boy recliner to use while making those "vroom vroom" sounds and drinking a frosty.
Thanks to bobbytnm for much help on this! Who would have thought Bobby had a 1990 Cadillac Shop Manual? Go figure.
Nice Job Randy, I'm in the process right now of installing a set of Old's Bravada bucket seats in a buddy's 56 from my truck club. He took the brackets off and I had to take the tracks completely apart and install countersunk screws from the top down and then hold them in place with nuts and loctite. Now I have studs comming down from the seat. His seats are narrower than yours, but just like you he has the gas tank moved so he has plenty of leg room now. I'll post some pics when I get done with the interior. He wants me to not do all the headliner so he can make an overhead console out of oak when he gets it home. His truck is pretty slick.
I'll keep you posted. GOOD job again, go easy on the frosties
Randy, I love those seats! They look like a perfect fit for the cab, and with those narrow backs it should help you get some room for those loooong legs.
Looks good Randy. When you get them recovered they will get rid of the cadillac emblem depression in the seat back. No one will know. Shhhhh! LOL
They look like they are mounted solid. I have seen some mounted that did not look to safe in an accident. I bought a car like that once....scarry when I found it.
Woohoooo!!!! They look great! I'm glaad to hear that you were able to get them wired up and working without letting all the smoke out. See, this electrical stuff ain't so bad
Excellent!!!! Before my puter went funny last night in chat, I was gonna ask some more about yer seats. But anyhow, yer gallery pics and explanations do the trick. Great work!! Can I borrow yer milk crate?
Randy, I would like to know how tall you are and how you feel sitting in there with the gas pedals. I sat in Terrys truck when I visited him I would be cramped on a long haul, albeit iit is a nice truck and Terry did an excellent job with the seat back to make it thin and comfortable to get the most out of the limited space. I'm 6' tall, I was just trying to get a reference.
Hey Ward, I'm in the process of setting up another set of seats currently and I think even you'd have enough room. I hope so at least, this guy is 6' 2" I got him as much leg room as possible. You know how it is live and learn, I'm goin to rework my seat as well to get as much leg room as possible. On a side note did you see that link I posted as Awesome problem solver? That would get you alot more leg room, especially considering that when your wife found out about you spending $600 on a small piece for your truck she'd chew alot of your butt off! Then you'd have extra room, but maybe need a little more padding in the seat?
Just kiddin about all that, but I am reworkin my seat after this deal with my buddy's truck. I learned alot from his truck.
