You joke about the boom, but, I think that may be a real concern. Not from the gas but from the air pressure. I maybe totally off base here, but, I don't think a propane tank is designed for high pressure. I'm almost certain it is illegal, but, that thing may blow. At least research the pressure rating. It may be fine; just check it out.
