Radius Arm

Ok I am going to replace the bushings in the Radius Arm. I am gonna do both tie rod ends so pulling those should help me get the clearance for just unbolting everything. My question is how tight is that nut spose to be for the bushings. Is there a torque spec for it?

Thanks

The one time I put bushing in my '69 I had to drop the axles individually to get radius arms out of the bracket. Pull pivot bolt, drop axle and pull it forward, pretty simple.

As for torque, my Chilton book just says tighten down and install cotterpin.

Freightrian, good call. Usually when I replace my ball joints, or even King pins I just tighten them to about maybe 20 foot-pounds and then move the castle nut to where you can get the Carter key in the slot and everything should be good. But about 100 miles on it or less, and recheck the joint. And if you have to pull the Carter key and tighten the castle and replace the Carter key. I hope this helps

Thanks for the replies, I was hoping it didnt need to be torqued down real tight. This is a great forum with a lot of knowledge.
