Here is a great story my wife was on the freeway and the rear driver side tire came loose 5out of 8 studs are gone and my 1year old 16x10 american racing rim is trash and my tire guy is telling me that there is not a replacement in the whole country he has had my studs replaced this was 2 months ago .Now for the good part my new 4.5 dr lift kit is here and geting installed on monday so if my tire guy cant replace my rim he will give me my $ back for the rims and i will have to get 4 new ones now my plan is to run a 35" tire with the new kit and dr recommends a 16x8 with 4 5/8 bs my 3 rims now are 16x10 with 4.5 bs. I have 305's now with a 2004 f-250 PSD stock height they did not rub until my dynatrac freespin kit was installed and now they hit the fender at full lock and bumps. the kit did push out the front tires so now im thinkig the 35's on the 16x10 with the 4.5 lift that they are still going to hit so if i have to get new rims do you think the 16x8 with the 315's is the beter way to go or should i wait for the tire guy to replace my rim with the 16x10 thanks for any help this lift is a dream of mine and i will be off-roading as much as i can just dont want anything to hit any place on the trk
Let me understand you correctly. You just had "your tire guy"replace your studs.Five out of eight misteriouslly came off.Could have been a real bad accident. And your bringing it back to him to do some more work on your truck.???????????????????
If that is what happened I would not let him near my truck!!Take the new wheels and bring them to a new"tire guy"
well he did have to replace the whole hub that was done by ford the way im looking at it is if i buy my next set of tires from him and he will rotate for free then if my rear end goes bad I point the finger back at him
Your playing with fire.He probablly pounded nout the studs of the old hub and reused them.Maybe cracked them or dammaged in some sort of way.Probablly didnt want to go the extra mile for new studs.Either way its fire and It shouldnt be played with.Get away from him!!!!!!
There are two things that would have caused the studs to shear in the first place. Either the wrong lug nuts are being used or they were not tightened properly.
Are the wheels he sold you hub centric or lug centric? If they are lug centric did the guy use conical lug nuts? (I bet he didn't).
If he did use the correct lug nuts, ask him how much he tightened the lug nuts? Did he use a torque wrench?
I agree with everyone else. Find a new shop, fast. This guy is going to kill you or your loved ones if you keep taking your truck back to him.
Do you still have the stock rims?? If so put them on get your money back for the other rims and find a new shop. Do you have a 4wheelparts store near you? If so go see them they have the info on the rims.
I do not have the stock rims and dont realy have a good 4x4 shop here in OCONOMOWOC WI. and it seems that I cant find 16x8 with 45/5 bs that dr recommends

Call 4wheel parts and talk to them about the rims they can find them and ship them to your house.
