Ok here is the deal, today I purchased a 1981 f250 with a 351m, and 4speed. So I start it at this guys house and it starts right up. I test dirve it take it back to his house turn it off, and start it agiain 45min later, and drive it home. So I get home and pull in the driveway and forget im driving a 4 speed and kill it . So I try and start it, and nothing, just the dead battery click. So I jump it with another truck, drive it around, turn it off, then it starts right back up. So I think problem solved. Theeeeen I go back out to start it and its dead. So I take the battery out charge it to like 70% clean the terminals, check the starter wire, put the battery back in and it starts. Drive it around the yard for 10min turn it off and dead. And now its so dead I cant even jump it. The battery is an 06 everstart, and the alternator looks fairly new, does anyone have any ideas whats wrong?
Check your voltage while running. After the trucks been running for about 15 mins the battery should be registering about 13.5-14v while running. A battery should be putting out 12.5v with the truck off.
