Question Help! Help!

I have a 75 F-250 and tuned it up was running great, until when I was changing the fuel filter it broke it broke off in carb when removing it ( Fram made in China). With a 32 year old carb I decided to replace with a rebuilt. I bought a remaned unit over the internet. I would have rebuilt mine but didn't want to extract filter. My problem is it will start and die. I've set mixture screws 1, 1 1/2, 2, 21/2, 3 turns with no eval. Took off air horn started and checked float, reset float to specs a couple times even though it did not need it. Then at dark I noticed with air horn off it just leans out after a few seconds, but if you excelerate or pump throttle it floods. Will resart and do the same thing. This family truck ran for 32 yrs. can someone help?

buy a screw extractor from a hardware or parts store. they are a few bucks. you tap it with a hammer and as you thread it it backs the piece out. i used to do the same on my snowplow, i would hit stones the plow would pop up and break the couplers on the lines off. i used to keep the tools and spare parts in the truck. return the rebuilt and buy a rebuild kit.
