LOW RANGE! NP came out with 2 NP435s one has a lower range than the other but they are both strong trannys. It is the best 4-speed I have ever owned or driven.
tha np435 is a very good tranny, and has a low 1st gear sumwhere like 6.16...my dad had one in his truck and he beat tha ***** off it. like previously said, there are 2 versions so get tha one with tha "granny" 1st gear
All non-diesel Ford 435's have the 6.69:1 low gear. Damn good tranny IMHO, the one in my 82 has 310,000 miles on it, and, it never gives me any trouble.
