If you want one with the best mileage and performance, look at the 95-97's with the 5.8. These are the roller 351's and the mileage difference between it and the same truck with a 5.0/302 is nil. I had a 95 E150 van with a 5.8 and it would run rings around a friends 93 that had a 302 but the mileage difference was zero. And the 302 had a 3.08 rear vs mine with a 3.55 rear. I'd leave it fuel injected as well.

I've been trying to look at what there is for fuel injected engines. What would I have to do to it commputer and injection wise? to run a mild cam, headers, exhaust and intake? If fuel injection is going to be cheaper than I'll stick with that.

Roller 5.8? I'd leave it alone. It's already got a good cam, maybe just add 1.7 roller rockers to give it some more lift. That and headers.

Enough to tow any thing you want. 1.7 pedestal roller rockers run anywhere from $100 used ( Ford/Crane Cobra rockers) to $200 (Crane 1.7 Energizers)

Should I put an intake on that 5.8 too? I shouldn't have to do anything to the cummputer or injection with just the rockers, headers, exhaust and intake should I?

You can leave the intake as is, only replace the paper filter with a K&N style and remove the airbox silencer.

Do you think I could beat a 86 camaro with 305 with intake, cam, carb, headers?
