E4OD shifter all whacky...
My 96 302 E4OD has a shifter that wanders around when shifting between the gear positions. The only way to get the gear you want is to hunt around sightly above or below the indicated gear until the tranny kind of begins to move in the desired direction.
I have heard of some sort of wheel/cord adjustment but have no idea if this is correct and where how this is done. I really want this truck to shift much more accurately.

Take covers off column. May just be loose screws on shift tube. If you r lucky . But the shift tube itself may be worn. And they do wear and break . But the cover removal is easy to see what need. The shift tube is and easy fix also . Check it out and let us know.
