so about a week ago my neighbor is talking to my dad about how his 3500 duramax bent the frame towing a 10k trailer... his truck is i believe an '02 3500 dually... his hitch bent down towing the trailer and yanked the frame with it.... needless to say the next day he picked up an '06 f550... he's in love... it's only got the "work" package too and he said it's nicer than his gmc!!!! he said it rides smoother, much quicker, and tows a whole lot better!! he said just going underneath the 2 trucks is like comparing a ranger to a f350... the frame on his gmc is as thin as sheet metal but about 2 feet long (looks big from the outside ).... funny thing is... he used to always come over when i was workin on my truck and say "ah fixin that again?!?" and i'd say "anytime you wanna line up that boat anchor you know where to find me!" and now he's changed to ford!!! he still uses his gmc to drive to his f550 at his shop haha
does anyone know what those '06 f550s have under the hood?? he claims it sounds like a 7.3 but i'm thinkin 6.0 for sure
when we had our 460's my dad loaned his to a friend to take a load of cattle about 360 mile round trip. he had a 6.5 chevy dually. any hill, any load 35 in 3rd gear lol. well, he used ours, and came home and went and bought a new 7.3. he also went out west to a ranch and they of course had ford. he said why don't you all use chevy's? he simply told him he could rip a chevy up goin to the barn.
