I ordered my 04 brand new & it now has 51,000+/-. I've had 2 rear seals replaced, pinion seal, blown turbo & blown inner cooler, 2 EGRs & coolers, 2 other oil leaks, blown head gaskets.

It's completely stock runs great & I'd buy anotherone in a heart beat. A friend of mine has a chevy & has had his share of problems also, blew the motor @ 5,000 & trany problems @ 10,000. A neighbor has a new 08 Dodge cc diesel & has a nightmare of electrical problems & trany problems.

I buy extended warranties on all the new vehicles we've bought. Wife is getting eady to purchase a new vehicle here shortly, maybe Jeep Grand Cheroke again, & we'll get an extended warranty.

Myabe you shouldn't have the Big Boys Toys!

This engine has earned its respect !!! If you read my post I never complained about THE ENGINE, just the jerk that shot either in it and didn't tell me as I bought it. So I am sorry If I peed on your parade but the fact is 6.0 is NOT as reliable as 7.3. I just got the oasis report and concluded that this 6.0 was an experiment. lol Its had the same problems since it left the assembly line. Oh, wait, Maybe my PAW PUT IT TOGETHER AT THE PLANT.lol Thank You for your opinion, If you love 6.0 let me know I have another lemon to sell, Clean too.

i love my 6.0. its twice the engine the 7.3 is from a technical/ engineering standpoint. it had problems at first but time is proving its superiority over the 7.3. actually the job2 '06 and '07" had the lowest dealer returns out of any pickup diesels.

some interesting reading:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...n-coolant.html

tell why the 7.3 is ok when some moron used starting fluid on it(prolly was a flood truck), but the 6.0 is junk because some meathead lifted the heads with a tuner and you got beat like a scalded dog on it.

"I love a heated topic !!! LOL. Between me and my 2 brothers, we have bought over 20 new fords from our local dealer. My brothers best friend was the sales manager. I will only say that ,"No, They don't hold a gun on you and make u buy." BUT they are trained, tested for efficiency, retrained, and when they are put on the sales floor,....... YOU HAVEN'T A CLUE WHAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH !!!! It would be the equevelant of a scam artist with an alzheimer patient. Right now 3 (THREE) of my friends are head of sales at local dealerships. They should be presented a DOCTRINE for their accomplishments in their field. They all bragg on the $10,000 mark-up they've hit people with. Take that to your little ethics/ morals/ right and wrongs of business.

Ford screws people daily by making these disposable vehicles. I have a lincoln town car 40,000 miles all the power windows are broken? defective, nah,.... But the world and politicians and your neighbors tell u , " Be a good, Honest citizen Charlie, don't lie, Stealing cable is lying!! LOL Paying 3 $ a gallon for gas is not. When u but a new "Ford" the LICENSED dealer , Authorized by FORD, Looks the other way as the stealership rapes, beats, steals your last dollar from u . You go in for a $15,000 work truck and the professionals stick you with a $47,0000 truck with 10% apr, life insurance, Lifetime oilchanges ($2000), and whatever else they think your sucker bASS is willing to beleive. We are literaly a drop in the bucket for these large corporations. I'll have a glass t.y P.S. I just gave my diamond dealer $100 I think he over paid me on our last transaction. He says he can't tell if he did. I don't care, I think he did over payed me so I gave it back. Point is , I wouldn't take a penny from another, unless the other has literaly taken thousands from me/us. Don't be STUPID. Love u guys and Thank You, DESY Q."

this guys a TROLL!

cause maybe just maybe...... he'll come to his senses and ask for help. Its the thought that the 6.0L is in the hands of an idiot.

Sorta reminds me of this guy that raises horses all his life. Got a few cows from me. ! got a resprotory infection. He treats the cow like a horse. Injecting penicilin IM instead of SQ and wondering why a knot comes uyp on her neck and its sore for him to touch her. By the time my ol' lady could get to her we lost her.
I'd hate for that machine go to waste.

From: new orleans,
I have the receipts. I paid 17,800 for the truck, I paid a local diesel mechanic friend of mine $1,700 to replace the oil cooler, and I just got it from another shop for an injector replacement $1,100. I don't have the time to deal with a stubborn vehicle. I have'nt personaly worked on this vehicle, nor do i want to as every mechanic has told me to get rid of it. I have friends in the car business so it is as good as gone.

WOW and people say we at the dealerships are expensive-you realize that the oil cooler on a 6.0L retails for $750 and should be more than 8HRS (so he gets more than the $70/HR we get up here in MA) of flat rate labor to install..sounds like he is part swapping instead of diagnosing and repairing the first time. So the truck is sold?? How much can a stubborn '03 be worth broken to a car dealer??

$1700 for replacement of the oil cooler holy cow, and $1100 for one injector. I feel sorry for you that you got robbed but just because you got robbed and have retards working on the truck that was obviously not taken care of doesn't mean you should talk down on it. The 6.0s have the same problems that any other diesel truck has. My dad has an 06 Duramax and has had more check engine lights and more problems than I have had with my 165,000 mile 6.0 in my 2004 F-250. If everyone of the jackass mechanics that have worked on it are telling you to get rid of it maybe you should, that way maybe someone who will actually take care of it will love having it with all the power it has.

I once had a "friend" work on a transmission on a Chevy Conversion van I used to own. It never worked right. So I took it to a respected local mechanic and he fixed it and I never had another problem with it. I'm not saying your friend is a bad mechanic it just seems that something always goes wrong when you let friends work on your vehicles. My truck isn't working properly right now so I feel a wee bit pissed but I like my truck and I know it's potential so I know it will be fixed. If you do sell it, make sure to let the buyer know of the problems you are having..... if you don't already believe in Karma.
