Anyone Ever Heard Of A Chip For A 99 F-350 W/ V-10 That Can DrOp THE ENGINE DOWN To 6 Cylinders For Fuel Mileage Savings?

Huh, I can’t imagine a 6-cylinder is going to be more fuel efficient pushing a 6500+ vehicle around town, but maybe…

for cruising on flat roads should work out well. My magnum 5.7 has it but I still only average like 17 with that thing

DO NOT do it. There is no savings in fuel mileage. You will still be turning all 10 cylinders. There was a long discussion in the v_10 forum awhile back. A search here will find it for you.

The only way that would work at all is if the intake valves could be shut off, like the old Cadillac V-4-6-8 system.

Incidently, that system was usually removed by teh dealers to solve warranty claims. It was a disaster and did not save much if any fuel.
