Is there a way to change the odometer display from Miles to KM's? Bought my '04 F350 in the US and was wondering if there's a sequence to change the odometer display. I'm assuming there is if there's a sequence to deactivate the seatbelt dingers....
I can change the fuel consumption from Gallons to Litres on the overhead console, but the odometer doesn't change when the fuel comsumption display changes..
No big deal if there isn't a fix, just have to keep reminding everyone (mechanic, insurance agent...) that the odometer reading is in miles.
Off topic, but I'm also looking at replacing the stock shocks with monroe's reflex's..(all 4 for $139.00)
No one has any info on the odometer?
Anyway I was looking at some Bilstein Mono-Tube HD shocks to replace the stock ones found a set of 4 for $249 Good deal?
The odometer and trip odometer are viewed through the message center in the integrated circuit display on message center clusters or in the integrated circuit display on base clusters. The odometer is tamper-resistant and accumulates and registers up to one million kilometers in metric mode or one million miles in English mode, based upon rolling count data sent from the PCM over the communication network. The trip odometer is resettable and accumulates and registers up to 9,999 kilometers (9,999 miles).
The above quote is from my service manual software. It also mentions four different instrument clusters 2ea gas/diesel for both metric and standard.
The so called "rolling count data" I interpet as being the same with the different instrument clusters actually converting into metric or standard miles.
The service manual makes no secret squirell type procedure to change display from metric and standard. i would believe you would need a different metric specific cluster.
