Hey folks my 04 6.0 has got a leak, seems to be coming from somewhere on the rght side of the engine compartment. It is a amber colored liquid about the consistance of diesel BUT it doesn't smell like diesel. It really has no smell at all but then I do have a cold. I can't find where it is dripping from. I been like the Pall Mall comercial "over and under, around, and through" and I can not see anything. But when I Park it in the driveway there will be a spot about 12" circle about 1' inside the right front tire and maybe 6" to 8" from center of tire at first I thought it was condensation from the AC but I drove it two days without the AC and the puddle was still there so I went and ran my hand in it and it was oily, so I started looking for a leak and can't find one. I can not think of anything that would have that kind of fluid on the RIGHT side of the engine compartment. All ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Your coolant is urine colored and will feel a little oily, you may have a leaking hose or something with the coolant system. Monitor your resevoir and put a coolant pressure tester on it i think the cap's rated at 8 psi. Pump it up to like 6 psi and let it sit if it's a coolant leak you'll know it the pressure will drop and you'll be loosin fluid faster. If it were diesel you'd smell it with a stuffed nose and there's really no other fluid that sounds like what your describing.Good luck
Your EGR cooler hose is leaking. It is located under the turbo-charger and if you truck has less than 100k miles, it can be replaced under warranty. This is a common problem and happens when it gets cold, usually 32f or less.
Check as mentioned in above posts as well. Not to be the 'Harvester of Sorrow' but you may have blown head gaskets and/or a seam split on the EGR cooler. Been there, had that!
If your truck is still within the 5yr/100k warranty take it to a Ford service department with Certified 6.0 Technicians (Important: Certified!) and pay the $100 deductible to have them diagnose it properly and thoroughly.
thanks to all that answered! I do believe you nailed it. I am taking it to the dealer this next week, it is time for them to do some work on it anyway to get it ready for the next 100K. You know change the belt, ALL the hoses, run diagnostics on the engine, change the transmission fluid and filter, etc..fix whats broke while its still under warranty. thanks all.
