While trying to look up some information for a restore, I stumbled across this site. THANKS!! I found out some interesting facts and will be asking lots of questions.
I'm restoring a 78 f-250 4x4 that I've recently acquired. My grandfather bought this truck new and has changed owners about 4 times until I got a hold of it.
Factory 400
Holley Carb
Thrush headers
Oversize cam -- not sure what size
High rise intake
glass packs
Excellent truck mechanically but does need much body and cosmetic work. Been doing mostly body work lately. Took bed off to redo brake lines, repaint frame, etc.
Having a blast doing this even though wife tells me I'm spending way too much money. Gotta go, talk later,
Welcome 78countryboy. Hmmmmmmmm wife says your spending to much money. I do believe probably everyone here including my self that is done any type of restoring has heard that phrase and this one is popular to, "Why do you want to spend so much time out in the garage"? Oh well it's a curse I guesss of all Truck and car junkies that are addicted. Glad you could join us, good folks here with tons of info. Don't see what you're looking for in the daily forums, take a look in the Archieves with the search option tons more info there also. good luck with your project.
