Just hit 180k!

So my 1994 Flare Side just chugged its way to 180,000 miles! My small block 302 is holding together nicely!

My tranny has been rebuilt and only has about 30,000 miles on it so no worrys there. Other than normal wear and tear and regular oil changes is there anything i should be worried about?

I remember turning 180K almost two years ago. Nothing to worry about if it's doing good now. I've got a couple minor leaks--oil pan gasket and timing cover gaskets--but other than that it's running flawlessly. Congratulations!

I just hit 150,000 miles about a week ago, so far no problems since I bought it at 75,000, except freeze plug blowing out. Other than the rust over the rear wheel wells it is almost absoulutly perfect.

169K on my 92.........5.0 and the trans are doing great.......(knock on wood). Might use/leak a quart between oil changes but no big spots under it so I'm good.
Passenger window motor gears are another story though.......*sigh* I really need to fix that.
Good ole trucks!!

182,000 on mine.
Just replaced the O2 sensors, and did a high milage valvoline 10-40, motocraft oil and fram air filter change.

Only seems to be rear main seal and oil pan leak, and a little bit of a rough idle. Nothing else though.

i just put in the Engine Restore to the oil and added Techtron to the gas. The restore seems to work pretty dam fast, only had to drive 5 miles and i noticed a difference in accel.

Nextras,

Congrats! Mine just turned 144,000. Also a 5.0. She's a flareside w/the supercab and 4 wheel drive. Truck totally bonestock and I'm leaning towards improving the sound/look of the exhaust on her. The motor/exhaust is just too damn quiet. I've got to look at the tach to see if she's running. I'm grounded with just enough info to realize there's a lot of hype on horsepower claims improving the exhaust. I'm thinking of just a catback system and noticed you did this. What size pipes did you end up with after the muffler? With this small block, I'm thinking a 2 1/2 inlet muffler and dual 2 1/4" outlets. Toying with having both pipes run alongside each other and dumping at a 45* behind the pass rear wheel. Not going to touch the motor at all (don't attempt to fix what ain't broke). Like others here who are getting great service from their trucks, the key is maintaining all the fluids and changing them regularly.

Regards,

Jim
