HELP!!!!!
The coil takes the 12v battery power and makes it 50k or so to spark the spark plugs. If you look on the distributor, the wires to go the spark plugs, and 1 to the coil. You can get an aftermarket coil from MSD, much better than the stock replacement, for around 50 bucks.

Hi, from the drivers side looking at the engine it is to the left of the distributor and slightly above, bolted to a bracket (that holds only the coil)bolted to the engine block. As the previous answer said, follow the wire in the center of the distributor cap.
