OK, I have pretty much ruled out any fuel problems as here as what I have done.
1) New fuel pump. With fuel line removed it is getting plenty of fuel.
2) Switched carbs as I had an extra lying around.
3) Replaced cap and rotor.
My Bronco fires right up and has great response while in park. However, when I put it in drive and accelerate it will hardly accelerate. It does not backfire out of the carb or exhaust, the only problem is it simply will not accelerate. I am at a loss!
I am in the process of putting in a new vacuum advance although the one in it seems to function fine. Any ideas of where to look next? Thanks!

ok I know it sounds stupid and simple but it happened to me in my Ranchero, same exact symptoms and I didnt even think about it, my dad sudgested the fuel filter, sure enough I bypassed the filter to test BINGO!, just a sudgestion on a place to look
Well, I replaced the filter while I had the pump out. Sorry, forgot to mention that. Weird, it starts great and has great throttle repsonse in park. Just won't accelerate under a load.
sounds like a lean condition, you aint gettin enough fuel right off from the accelerator pump (s) what kiind of carb are you runnin? is it the 2bbl or what?
yea that thing is prolly running real lean, carberators are real touchy when it comes to different climates and elevations, also being that it was a california model means its prolly got some really small jets in it to cut back on emissions, i knew a guy who had a 83 chevy 3/4 ton who moved to arkansas from colorado and he had a california truck too, had all those little lines and stuff running from the manifolds and he had to richen it up about 10 sizes
im having the same problem with a 79 400 with new intake and edelbrock 1450 carb , someone suggested moving the accel pump rod up a hole , it has three , let me know how yours turns out
