Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a 87-96 Full size Bronco and transfer my Tuff Country 6" Lift and axles over.
I'm currently looking at a '93 and was wondering how good the tranny and transfer case are in these units.
The E4OD auto is tempermental and arguably less sought after than its earlier cousins (AOD, C6, etc). But by 93 the good thing is the upgrades had all been done at the factory before the truck shipped. The BW 1356 is a fairly reliable T-case but suffers from the annoyance of eating shift motors on the electronic-shift models.
The M5OD Mazda-derivative 5-speed manual has a better track record along with the manual version of the BW1356 t-case. (No electronics to fail = more reliable driveline components if you want my opinion).
