new engine, when i get past 50mph the truck shudders like nothing i've experienced. then quits shaking completely at under 50...tires/wheels are balanced...new ujoints throughout as well as steering/suspension parts. brakes fine. weird...any ideas?
Mil1ion made a good point.. it's important that the driveshaft is installed how it was prior to removal. Most importantly, the U-Joints have to all line up.. and if the driveshaft has ever been balanced for weight, you'll have to just keep turning it, trial and error, until the vibration stops.
Of course, it could be one of a million different issues.
A driveshaft is installed in whats called a "phase" If you separate the yoke from the driveshaft, make sure you mark it. It should already be marked, look for a pair of arrows stamped into it, they should point at each other.
I would inspect that you have the correct flexplate and harmonic balancer on the motor. Also, I would inspect your tires CLOSELY for bubbles and other damage. I will bet you a dollar that if you were to swap out your rims/tires that the problem would go away.
i had my mechanic, who is the local ford suspension guy, do it for me so I don't know how it was installed but he said it was probably the same thing.
gimme that dollar beavis! not tires, balancer etc. the tires/wheels worked great on my bronco right prior to the switch....never had a tire, bent rim, etc act like this...the shaking actually isn't that bad on retrospect...but the noise and commotion is definitely driveline i think.
Could a slipping belt in a c-6 3rd gear do this? The only other option i think. Engine is balanced and well built....and runs well. tranny is suspect and that hurts me deeply
thanks sooo much for the responses....i've spent so much time in the 335 forum i darn near forgot this one is here...and me with the 77 f150 4x4 and the 75 f250crew 4x4...getting to where i can bother you guys here more now.

I won't pay up till the rims and tires are swapped out, ruling them out completly. Tires do and will go bad, its just a matter of time. Once you do switch them out with something different, you can you can use paypal to invoice me for said dollar, plus paypal fees at masterbeavis at hotmail dot com.
the thought occured to me, my bronco vibrates at 50ish or so. It has been like that since I put on new u-joints and over tightened the bolts. Mebbe the mechanic overtightened the bolts, or one of them are bound up where the clips go?
all ball joints, bearings, seals, calipers, rotors, control arms, legs, hands and feet were replaced with moog or equivalent...all wearable parts to include all ujoints except the one in the center of the front axle area somewhere that i guess is a real bear...????
it was then aligned...and seering box adjusted about 1/16-1/8th of a turn. it's basically new under there.
