i have a 2004 f350 4x4 at 6.0. i have to replace the oil pan, and was wondering if there were any tricks or tools i would need for the job. does the engine have to come out? what about the at? any help is greatly appreciated!!!
No the engine doesn't have to come out. I actually think it's a fairly easy job to pull it from underneath. You might possibly have to take the motor mount bolts loose and **** it a little (carefully), but I'm not sure you even have to do that. What happened to your pan?
thanks. i bought the truck wrecked, and it looks like they ran onto something. it broke the right steering knuckle, front yoke, put a hole in the oil pan, got the rt. step bar, and both tires and wheels.
I have the same question for a 2003 F350 6.0 4x4. Seems to be a small leak from the drivers side. I tightened what bolts I could get at, some were a little loose but still weeping a bit and driving me nuts!
Just updating in case it helps anybody. yes trans has to come out or back 6-8 inches so you can get the rear engine cover/main seal retaing plate off. Also need to raise motor as much as possible to get your arm in to take pick-up loose. then pan can come out.
