Just curious as to how low of mileage these old original CPS units fail at: My late '99 has 72k on it, and I am getting ready to do a 2200 mile round trip.
I have 2 of the new "B" gray units already in the glove box though!
Prior Owner replaced on at about 60k and I just replaced that one at 123k. I was finally able to use my $80 spare - will replace the spare with the $10 one.
My truck had 61,000 on it when I bought it. CPS started acting up a month after I bought it. I was experiencing the intermittent shut off and bucking at freeway speeds.
Original was replaced at 101K. the replacement is still going strong at 251K (150k on sensor), I do have a spare grey one in the glove box just in case.
