Markadeck if you don't mind me asking what brand of exhaust do have? When ordering an exhaust system do they sell straight pipe systems or do have to order the whole thing an delete the muffler. Do yuo also know where I can get some 4'' SS pipe to my 6637,CCV upgrades. I will do those two first then exhaust later. THANKS

The single most important thing to your truck is to get clean air (just hold your hand by the intake tube at idle to get a feel for how much air a diesel ingests)...the AIS is the filter for best filtration in dusty conditions. I drive in the worst possible dust conditions all the time and the AIS gives me absolutely spotless intake tube and turbo. Unless you are going to build a big horsepower engine, I don't think you need to be concerned with any of the three choices for air flow. You would easily get 30-40K out of the AIS filter element in extreme dusty conditions (which offsets the high cost of the element - I just tap it out every couple a thousand miles). The 6637 allows more turbo "noise" and some have said that when pulling a load it can get bothersome...a drone sound. The AIS is extremely quiet, which I like because I can then listen to my books on cd without having to turn the sound way up in volume. Hope this helps you.
how much more turbo noise is there,is it louder the my afe?

[QUOTE=homesteader]Markadeck do you mind me asking what brand of exhaust system you have on your truck? When you order your exhaust kit do they sell a sraight pipe kit with out the muffler? I have 02 450 dually do think a staight pipe kit will fit my truck? I also wanted to run dual pipes. THANKS[/QU

Sorry about the late reply, just saw the question for the first time. I got mine from that outfit in Tennesee, name eludes me right now. Yes it will come with or without a muffler. Little cheaper without the muffler but I ended up being glad I got the muffler cuz it fit right onto my Cat Powered motor home and now it sounds cool too. Can't answer the duals question, other that with a "Why"?

I added the 6637 filter and a muffler delete on my 99 and it runs very nice and sounds great but it is a little loud with the passenger windows down so I will probably add a nice muffler or whole turbo back exaust some day. I love the sound of the 6637 though.... Mike b
