Question Tranny and Brakes problems

I have been doing some work on my 89 Bronco 5.0 LTR AOD trans. I upgraded the cooling system with heavy duty radiator and aluminum water pump, pulled the upper intake and replaces the valve covers with aftermarket covers and fel-pro sure seal rubber gaskets, put on a throttle body spacer from Trans Adapt. I also purchased MSD cap, rotor, wires and Ignition box, but have not installed yet. The problem that I am having is I started the engine with no issues. I went to apply the brakes and they went to the floor, pumped them up and put the truck in reverse and the truck didn't move, put it in drive and nothing. I had a wood block behind the rear wheel tire and when I moved it the truck started to roll back wards and I had it in park, I jumped in and applied the brake and nothing, tried to apply emergency brake and nothing. Had to run behind truck and stop it from rolling and put wood block back behind rear tire. Please help I'm freaking out, I had no problems with my breaks or tranny before, but the truck has been setting for about a year. I would be thankful for any help.

"Sitting for a year..." Pardon if I sound condescending but did you check your fluid levels before attempting to move the truck. Small leaks in hydraulic systems (tranny and braking) can go un-noticed during regular driving because checking fluids is a routine practice. However, if the vehicle sits for a year with these small leaks, it is quite possible to have issues when starting out again. Automatic transmissions that work just fine with a low fluid condition when driven daily, will have problems after the fluid has had a chance to settle into the pan after long periods of time. A dirty filter will make getting that fluid moving again take longer than normal as well.
