Shift linkage

Ok, folks, ol' greystreak has a question for someone who may have doen this more recently than I. Pulling the shift linkage between a BW 1356 and the shift lever. The connections are barb and bushing. Anyone know an effective removal method that doesn't trash the bushings?

Heat it up with a blow dryer to soften it up a bit if they are plastic or composite.
Works good for door lock rods and stuff like that too.

Cool idea! Thanks! Found a link for a truck with an E4OD and a manual T-case but its still on the donor in a salvage yard and I was running out of daylight.
